Forsmo joins Swedish Club


Former Norwegian Shipowners’ Association employee Tore Forsmo has joined The Swedish Club as area manager for Norway.
He will contribute to the development and marketing of The Swedish Club in Norway with particular focus on P&I and marine lines, following last year’s successful launching of the energy business.
“With Tore Forsmo on board we feel confident that we will able to grow and develop our activities in Norway in a professional and sustainable manner,” said managing director Lars Rhodin.
As well as the NSA, Forsmo previously worked for Frontline Mangement, Cefor and Det Norske Veritas.
He will take up the position with The Swedish Club later this autumn.

The Swedish Club has launched a new Loss Prevention initiative to assist owners. Under the ISM requirement owners are obliged to carry out monthly safety meetings or safety committee meetings onboard their vessels.
The UK P&I Club has been advised of a number of recent detentions involving the Water Mist Systems being disabled or being left in an inoperable condition.
The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) has come up with a raft of proposals to make the city a more attractive international maritime centre (IMC), with tax excemptions and incentives topping the list of suggestions.  
Industrial and General Insurance Plc (IGI) and United Kingdom-based, The East of England P&I Association Limited have entered a partnership to guarantee protection and indemnity insurance that will safeguard owners and people wo charter commercial ships in Nigeria against liabilities.
