Panamax rates drop on all routes


PANAMAX
=======

Panamax business remained under pressure in the Atlantic today, with rates
dropping on all routes including trips out,  which until now have seemed
immune to the growing tonnage lists.  In the Pacific market, NoPac rounds have
managed to hold at last dones, but rates for Indonesia and Australia business eased.
 Short periods in the East are holding in the $9,000 daily range.  The Baltic
Panamax index fell 29 to 871 today.

The Atlantic market included reports of Oldendorff fixing on subjects the
2011-built 82,000 dwt CK Angie for March 01-05 delivery aps SW Pass on a trip
with redelivery Singapore/Japan at $15,000 daily plus a ballast bonus of
$300,000.

Cargill reportedly fixed on subjects the 2010-built 79,444 dwt Cobelfret-relet
Golden Eminence for March 14-18 delivery aps Santos-Paranagua on a trip with
redelivery Singapore/Japan at $14,500 daily plus a ballast bonus of $450,000.

Ultrabulk has the 1989-built 70,329 dwt Princess Vanya for March 02-08
delivery
Dunkirk on a trip via Murmansk with redelivery China at $14,000 daily.

Voyage business in the Atlantic saw J.Aron fix the 2011-built Sunny Young for
March 09-14 loading 70,000 tons 10% coal from ICRMT to Immingham at $16,50.

Endesa agreed $16,00 for a TBN with March 05-15 loading 70,000 tons 10% coal
from the Mississippi River to El Ferrol.

Phoenix has a TBN for March 05-19 loading 75,000 tons 10% coal from Richards
Bay to Dharma at $15,00.

TKS was said to be the charterer of the 2007-built 76,662 dwt Golden Kiji for
March 05-15 loading 70,000 tons 10% coal from Mobile to Rotterdam at $14,50.

The 2011-built 80,679 dwt Key Frontier has gone to Cobelfret for March 01-07
loading 70,000 tons 10% ore from Murmansk to Gijon at $7,50.

Out of the Pacific, the 2007-built 82,471 dwt Nord Phoenix has fixed to CJ
International for February 23-27 delivery Gangavaram on a trip via east coast
South America with redelivery Singapore/Japan at $11,250 daily.

The 2012-built 76,483 dwt Botafogo SW has gone to AGRL for March 10-15
delivery
aps Vancouver on a trip via the Persian Gulf with redelivery passing Muscat
outbound at $9,700 daily plus a $400,000 ballast bonus.

STX Pan Ocean was linked with the 1998-built 70,500 dwt Obelix Bulker for
February 26 delivery Niihama on a trip via NoPac with redelivery
Singapore/Japan at $8,250 daily.

The 2012-built 82,000 dwt Antwerpia will earn $8,000 daily from Norden for
spot
delivery South Korea on a trip via NoPac with redelivery Singapore-Japan.

The 2002-built 72,000 dwt Al Mansour has gone to an undisclosed charterer for
spot delivery west Australia on a trip with redelivery China at $6,500 daily
plus a ballast bonus of $265,000.

For period business in the Pacific, HMM was the charterer of the 2011-built
75,000 dwt Shandong Hai Chang for February 26-March 02 delivery Zhanjiang for
11-13 months trading with redelivery worldwide at $7,000 daily for the first
60
days trading and $11,000 daily for the balance.

The 2005-built 74,432 dwt Moon Globe went to Norden for February 27-29
delivery
Dangjin for 4-7 months trading with redelivery worldwide at $9,750 daily.

CAPESIZE
========

There was little concluded business reported for the Atlantic market, with the
focus still on cargoes from east coast South America.  Midweek saw little
change to the Pacific capesize market.  Here the key West Australia/China run
continued
to fix at $7,60.  Period business of 7-11 months trading was reported fixed at
$11,800 daily.  The Baltic Capesize index rose 8 to 1460.

>From the Atlantic, CSE has reportedly fixed the 2010-built 179,764 dwt Five
Stars Beijing for March 05-14 loading 128,000 tons 10% ore from Tubarao to
Kaohsiung at $21,50.

Out of the Pacific came word of Rio Tinto Shipping taking the 1996-built Jag
Arjun for March 04-08 loading 160,000 tons 10% ore from Dampier to Qingdao at
$7,60.

The charterer also took the 2005-built 180,265 dwt Navios Fantastiks for
February 25 delivery Taicang for a trip via west Australia with redelivery
China at $7,60.

Pacific period business saw Cobelfret take the 1995-built 165,693 dwt C.Oasis
for February 24-26 delivery Dangjin for 7-11 months trading with redelivery
worldwide at $11,800 daily.


SUPRAMAX/HANDYMAX
=================

Another day of struggle for supramaxes in the Atlantic.  Rates for tonnage in
the Atlantic paid $13,000 daily for 2 laden legs with worldwide redelivery,
and
$11,750 daily plus a $190,000 ballast bonus for a trip out from east coast
South
America.  Pacific Handy business held at last dones in the southeast, with
supramaxes seeing rates in the $8,000 daily range.  Period business of about
1-years trading fixed at $11,750 daily for modern tonnage.  The Baltic
Supramax
and Handysize indices were each up 1 today to 641 and 389 respectively.

>From the Atlantic, Pacbasin has the 2010-built 56,867 dwt Star Globe for
end-February delivery Puerto Cortes on a trip with 2 laden legs and redelivery
worldwide at $13,000 daily.

The 2002-built 47,760 dwt Great Scenery has gone to Pioneer for
end-February/early-March delivery aps Santana on a trip with redelivery China
at $11,750 daily plus a ballast bonus of $190,000.

ABT was the charterer of the 2006-built 55,781 dwt Mokara Colossus for
end-February delivery aps Jamaica for a trip with redelivery in the Black Sea
at $9,250 daily.

Island View Shipping took the 2011-built 56,116 dwt Green Phoenix for spot
delivery South Africa on a trip with redelivery on the Continent at $6,000
daily.

Pacific Handy business heard that Couple Ocean took the 2011-built 57,352 dwt
Beibu Bulk-relet Jin Feng for February 21-24 delivery Zhanjiang on a trip via
southeast Asia with redelivery China at $13,500 daily.

Chinese charterers fixed the 2010-built 56,971 dwt CS Daisy for spot delivery
Hirohata on a trip via southeast Asia with redelivery China at $11,000 daily.

The 2010-built 56,180 dwt Flag Alexandros fixed to Sealink for end-February
delivery Lanshan on a trip via southeast Asia with redelivery China at $9,250
daily.

An unnamed charterer has reportedly takent he 2009-buit 58,470 dwt Tenki Maru
for end-February delivery aps Kalimantan on a trip with redelivery
Singapore-Japan at $9,000 daily  plus a $215,000 ballast bonus.

The 2003-built 56,060 dwt Prabhu Parvati has gone to an undisclosed charterer
for February 24-25 delivery Lianyungang on a trip via Indonesia with
redelivery
India at $8,000 daily.

Also unnamed was the charterer of the 2006-built 53,556 dwt Maple Grove,
fixing
the vessel for February 26-28 delivery Xingang on a trip via southest Asia
with
redelivery China at $8,000 daily.

Tongli proved to be the charterer of the 2009-built 56,957 dwt Yuan An Hai for
spot delivery Lianyungang on a trip via Indonesia with redelivery China at
$7,000 daily.

The 2011-built 56,826 dwt Lan Hai Chuang will earn $6,000 daily from ISL Duba
for February 25-29 delivery South China on a trip via Indonesia with
redelivery
South China.

Period business in the East heard that Beibu Bulk took the 2011-built 57,352
dwt
Jin Feng for 1-years trading with delivery Zhanjiang and redelivery worldwide
at $11,750 daily.  The charterer then promptly relet the vessel.

Market Reports

GAS - CHARTERING: There was hardly any confirmed VLGC fixtures in the market last last week, but of course and as usual there were a couple of Indian sub-fixtures at levels similar to last week.
August is typically a time when the shipping industry takes it easy...
The NWE spot coaster market has seen activity remain at similar levels as last week with levels of enquiries and fixtures rather flat.
GAS - CHARTERING: The VLGC week can at best be described as average as far as activity level is concerned, a couple of confirmed fixtures as well as a couple of sub-fixtures are the only to report.
