PANAMAX
=======
Atlantic Panamax business trended sideways into the close of the week. May
business has largely been covered, and the full extent of June cargoes has yet
to emerge. Trips out from the Continent were few as owners continue to resist
offers to go East. In the Pacific, the rapidly expanding list of available
tonnage pressured rates. NoPac rounds have dropped into the $8,000 daily
range.
Demand for period tonnage eased as did rates. Short period of 4-6 months
trading is seeing about $11,000 daily. The Baltic Panamax index was off 28 to
1322 today.

CAPESIZE
========
Atlantic Capesize business heard very little in the way of concluded business
today. There was some talk of Atlantic rounds and trips out being done, but
details failed to emerge. A trip out from Tubarao to Qingdao is being talked
around $20.70, but again confirmation was lacking. In the Pacific, the key
west Australia/Qingdao run remained under pressure, with rates still fixing at
$7,50. A backhaul round, Port Kelang/Spore-Japan, was done at $12,500 daily for
modern tonnage.The Baltic Capesize index edged down 4 to 1614.

HANDY/SUPRAMAX
==============
There was a bit of a slowdown noted for the Atlantic Handy market into the
close. Rates remained positive, but have possibly peaked. From the
Mediterranean to the Persian Gulf, a supramax will earn $20,000 daily for
about 40-50 days trading. The Pacific basin closed the week very quietly, with
rates trending sideways on the lack of activity. A trip out for east coast South
America reportedly fixed a supramax at $19,000 daily. In the East, a NoPac
round, Kashima/Spore-Japan, will pay $9,250 daily. An Indonesia/India round
paid $11,000 daily plus a $175,000 ballast bonus for a supramax. The Baltic
Supramax index was off 4 at 1112, while the Handysize index moved up 6 to 616.
The Atlantic basin saw the 2011-built 57,700 dwt Blue Ocean fix on subjects
