Panamax/Capesize indices edge up slightly


PANAMAX
=======

Tuesday was a slow day for the Atlantic Panamax market, with fresh inquiry and
available tonnage well matched. As a result rates trended sideways. For the
Pacific market, new business surfaced from Indonesia and provided most of the
momentum. Rates appeared to be firming on the back of all the tonnage
ballasting away. An EC Australia/Spore-Japan run paid a stronger $8,700
daily.
A NoPac round was fixed at $7,000 daily for prompt delivery. The Baltic
Panamax index moved up 8 to 1089 today.

Atlantic Panamax business included reports of the 2006-built 76,863 dwt Shin
Yo fixing to Golden Ocean for end-June/early-July delivery in the U.S. Gulf for a
trip with redelivery Singapore-Japan at $17,000 daily plus a ballast bonus of
$700,000.

Cargill has reportedly fixed the 2001-built 75,336 dwt Triton for prompt
delivery Cape Passero on a trip via Ponta Da Madeira with redelivery China at
about $16750 daily.

The 2010-built 93,000 dwt Giuseppe Bottiglieri has gone to Bunge for prompt
delivery east coast South America on a trip with redelivery Iran at $16,000
daily plus a $675,000 ballast bonus.

Bunge was also linked with the 2000-built 74,677 dwt Aldebaran One for July
17-20 delivery Recalada-Vitoria on a trip with redelivery Singapore-Japan at
$15,750 daily plus a $590,000 ballast bonus.

The 1998-built 73,144 dwt Antwerp Max went on subjects to Bunge for June 28-30
delivery Recalada on a trip with redelivery Italy at $12,750 daily plus a
ballast bonus of $325,000.

Cargill was said to have fixed on subjects the 2010-built 83,448 dwt Fiskardo
for June 30 delivery Praia Mole on a trip with redelivery on the Continent at
$12,500 daily plus a $300,000 ballast bonus.

Azure has the 2009-built 82,191 dwt MBA Future for July 03 delivery Pecem on a
trip with redelivery on the Continent at $12,000 daily plus a $350,000 ballast
bonus.

The 2011-built 81,966 dwt Sunny Young was reported fixed on subjects to Torm
for spot delivery Portbury on a trip via Trombetas with bauxite to the Continent
at $10,000 daily.

Peabody took the 2008-built Bunge-relet Ostria S for June 25-July 05 loading
70,000 tons 10% coal from the U.S. Gulf with redelivery ARA at $18,60.

Out of the Pacific, the 1997-built 73,470 dwt Carola has gone to DHL for spot
delivery CJK on a trip via east coast Australia with redelivery Singapore-Japan
at a firmer $8,700 daily.

Norden reportedly fixed a TBN for June 21-30 delivery Indonesia on a trip with
2 laden legs and redelivery Singapore/Japan at $8,500 daily.

The 2005-built 75,776 dwt Baltia has fixed to Cargill for June 23 delivery
Zhoushan in d/c for a trip via NoPac with redelivery Singapore/Japan at $7,000
daily.

Oceans21 was said to be the charterer of the 2001-built 76,318 dwt Pontovremon
for June 22 delivery Lianyungang on a trip via NoPac with redelivery Indonesia
at $5,750 daily.

CAPESIZE
========

Overall it was another quiet day for the Capesize sector. Owners are said to
be resisting any further drop in rates which has led to something of a standoff.
From the Atlantic, there was very little concluded business reported, although
several vessels were said to have fixed privately. Voyage business from
Saldanha to China paid $12,30 for first-half July dates. In the East, the
market was still weak, with west Australia/China business reported to have
fallen to $6,30. The Baltic Capesize index edged up 2 to 1140.

The Atlantic market saw DHL take the 1990-built Waterford for July 10-19
loading 130,000 tons 10% coal from Richards Bay to Rizhao at $11,50.

Kumba has a TBN for July 07-12 loading 160,000 tons 10% ore from Saldanha Bay
to Qingdao at $12,30.

From the Pacific, the 2011-built Lake D was reported fixed to BHP Billiton
for July 04-08 loading 170,000 tons 10% ore from Port Hedland to Qingdao at $6,50.

Sinosteel reportedly took a Cosbulk TBN for July 02-11 loading 160,000 tons
10% ore from west Australia to China at $6,30 - basis a 3.75% commission.

HANDY/SUPRAMAX

Handy business held at last dones today, with 2-3 legs from the U.S. Gulf
reportedly fixing in the $18,000-$18,500 daily range or higher - but the exact
rate was not disclosed. From Morocco, a supramax was fixed to Abidjan via La
Pallice at $16,000 daily.
The Baltic Supramax index added 28 to 1112, while the Handysize index was up
13 to 682.

In the Atlantic, the 2001-built 50,169 dwt Pretty Lady went to Sometra for
June 19-24 delivery Safi on a trip via La Pallice with redelivery Abidjan at
$16,000 daily.

Out of the Pacific, the 2011-built 56,780 dwt Blue Fin has gone to PWSL for
June 20-22 delivery Prachuap on a trip via Indonesia with redelivery west coast
India at $9,500 daily. The business was earlier fixed redelivery east coast India
at $9,000 daily.

Refined Success was the charterer of the 1999-built 46,671 dwt Vosco Star for
spot delivery Vietnam on a trip via Indonesia with redelivery China at $8,000
daily.

The 2012-built 55,848 dwt United Halo will earn $7,000 daily for June 20-22
delivery Kohsichang on a trip via Indonesia with redelivery China.

Period business in the East heard that the 2010-built 56,933 dwt Shun Xin has
gone to an undisclosed charterer for June 20 delivery Matadi on 4-6 months
trading with redelivery worldwide at $14,500 daily.
