Louis: Extension of charter parties for “Thomson Majesty” and “Thomson Spirit”


Louis plc announces the extension of the charter of its two cruise vessels “Thomson Majesty” and “Thomson Spirit” to Thomson Cruises, part of TUI Travel plc, until November 2017.

The two vessels had been chartered to Thomson Cruises, until the end of 2014. The chartering of Louis plc vessels to Thomson Cruises started back in 1996 and this extension demonstrates the long, strategic and successful relationship between the two companies.

This deal is a further confirmation of the trust that the biggest and most reputable international leisure travel companies like TUI Travel plc place in Louis plc.

A doctor in Nigeria’s oil hub of Port Harcourt has died from Ebola after treating a contact of a Liberian-American man who was the first recorded case of the virus in Africa’s most populous country, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.
In the first half of 2014, Chinese seaborne coal imports declined 0.4% y-o-y to 148mt, largely reflecting a 3.3% fall in imports of steam coal. Meanwhile, imports of lignite (a low-quality coal), which have risen strongly over the last few years, have remained a bright spot. In the first six months of the year, Chinese lignite imports increased by more than 20% y-o-y to 36mt.
