Maran Tankers linked to SAMCO ASIA acquisition

Broker reports suggest Maran Tankers has acquired tanker vessel SAMCO ASIA (dwt 305000 blt 2003 S.Korea) for USD 35.5 million.

Reports also suggest a Greek player is behind the purchase of tanker vessel ST.PAULI (dwt 47149 blt 2003 Japan) for a reported USD 14 million.

In the bulker segment, Greeks have moved for bulker HONESTY OCEAN (dwt 47240 blt 1997 Japan) for a reported USD 8.25 million. 


Navios Acquisition, an owner and operator of tanker vessels, announced that the Nave Electron, a 2002-built VLCC of 305,178 dwt, was delivered to Navios Acquisition's owned fleet on July 21, 2014.
The latest Market Report by Carriers (W29) reports Greece's Olympic Shipping & Management has acquired tanker vessel G WHAL (dwt 319,869 blt 2011 S. Korea) at the price of USD 60 million.

Intermodal reports a Greek player has placed an order at DSME, S. Korea for four (+2) tanker vessels (dwt 320,000) to be delivered 2016 at the price of USD 95 – 98 million. The order is at the Letter of Intent stage, the report notes. Furthermore, another Greek owner has ordered two (+2) tanker vessels (dwt 145,000) at HHI, S. Korea to be delivered 2016 at the price of USD 69 – 70 million.
The Asian Long Range II freight rate for moving naphtha on the Persian Gulf-to-Japan route is edging up close to the 100 Worldscale point mark due to the tightness in tonnage for the early August loading window, shipping sources tracking the market said Wednesday.
