Maran Tankers linked to SAMCO ASIA acquisition
Broker reports suggest Maran Tankers has acquired tanker vessel SAMCO ASIA (dwt 305000 blt 2003 S.Korea) for USD 35.5 million.
Reports also suggest a Greek player is behind the purchase of tanker vessel ST.PAULI (dwt 47149 blt 2003 Japan) for a reported USD 14 million.
In the bulker segment, Greeks have moved for bulker HONESTY OCEAN (dwt 47240 blt 1997 Japan) for a reported USD 8.25 million.
Sungdong to build LR1 tankers for European owner
Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has secured an order for two long range one (LR1) tankers from a European owner. The two 74,500dwt eco-vessels have improved fuel-efficiency by using the "G-Type" engine and eco-friendly ship design, which has a fuel economy effect of about 15%.
Iraq: Lukoil Makes First Shipment From West Qurna Oilfield
