Maran Tankers linked to SAMCO ASIA acquisition

Broker reports suggest Maran Tankers has acquired tanker vessel SAMCO ASIA (dwt 305000 blt 2003 S.Korea) for USD 35.5 million.

Reports also suggest a Greek player is behind the purchase of tanker vessel ST.PAULI (dwt 47149 blt 2003 Japan) for a reported USD 14 million.

In the bulker segment, Greeks have moved for bulker HONESTY OCEAN (dwt 47240 blt 1997 Japan) for a reported USD 8.25 million. 


Navios Acquisition, an owner and operator of tanker vessels, announced that it has received notice from Navios Midstream of its intention to exercise options for up to two VLCCs, subject to NAP closing its recently announced $205 million Term Loan B on terms acceptable to NAP.

Carriers report (W21) that Pantheon Tankers has placed an order at Hyundai Heavy Industries for two tanker vessels (dwt 300,000) set to be delivred 2016 at the price of USD 96 million. The same report mentions Maran Tankers have exercised an option at Daewoo for two tanker vessels (dwt 158,000) at the price of USD 66 million. Delivery is slated for 2017.
