A.M. Nomikos acquires bulker
Greece-based A.M. Nomikos has acquired bulk carrier "East Bravery" (dwt 73,992 blt 2000 Japan) in the secondhand market, according to latest broker reports. The price of the acquisition approximates USD 10.7 million. The company managed a fleet of 18 vessels, mostly Supramax bulkers built after 2000.

A.B. Maritime, Altomare & Flagship Marine linked to acquisitions

A.B. Maritime
of Greece is being linked to the acquisition of bulker M/V "THALASSINI AXIA". Brokers report the company is involved in a deal for the bulker for USD 21 million. Also, in the bulker segment, another Greek player (reportedly Giavridis) has acquired M/V "SKY MARINER" for about USD 15.5 - 15.8 million. In the tanker market, clients of Altomare of Greece are being reported as buyers of M/T "WASHUSAN" for USD 28.3 - 28.5 million. Flagship Marine is also reported to have acquired M/T "DELIGHT VICTORIA" for USD 25 million.

Greeks invest USD 82.4m in secondhand market
Strong presence of Greek owners in the secondhand market recorded for a second week, following the week ending February 1st. In the bulk carrier segment, they invested about $51,5 mil for the purchase two panamax vessels built 2000 and 2001, one supramax built 2010 and one handysize built 1997.

Brokers are reporting the sale of feeder "URSULA RICKMERS" (1,728 dwt - blt 1997 Poland) to Greek owner Regal Shipping for USD 4 million.

Indonesian, Dharma Bangsa, placed an order for 10 mini bulkers at Chinese yard Daoda. The ships will be used as part of coal transhipment operation. In addition, Chinese CMES placed orders at Jiangnan and Dalian for a total of 6 VLCCs. The price (USD 85 million) is fully in line with market.

Greeks active in secondhand market
The Clarkson Hellas S&P Weekly Bulletin notes M/V OCEAN PLANET (76,812 dwt 2005 blt Sasebo) reported sold for a price in the low US$ 15m with dd due 9/2013 to Greek buyers while the 14years old M/V CO-OP PHOENIX (72,443 dwt 1999 blt Sasebo) sold at about US$ 9.5m again to Greek interests.

Greece-based Chartworld Shipping Corperation has, according to latest broker reports, acquired bulk carrier "Ocean Planet" (dwt 76.812 blt 2005 Japan) in the secondhand market. The price reported is estimated at USD 15.4 million.

Chios Navigation pinches bulker

Chios Navigation has acquired bulk carrier "Archon" (dwt 75.121 blt 2001), according to Fearnleys Weekly. The reported price is approximately USD 12.2 million. In the newbuilding front, two Norwegian Owners have contracted bulk carriers with Japanese yards over the last week, the report notes.

Seanergy sells four bulk carriers
Seanergy Maritime Holdings announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Maritime Capital Shipping Limited (“MCS”), sold its 100% ownership interest in four subsidiaries. The four subsidiaries own the Handysize dry bulk carriers M/V Fiesta, M/V Pacific Fantasy, M/V Pacific Fighter and M/V Clipper Freeway.

Greeks go for bulkers

Brokers report three deals involving Greek players in the secondhand market this week, all for bulk carriers. Crown Star (dwt 76,662 blt 2002 JAPAN) was sold to a Greek buyer for a reported USD 12 million. At the slightly higher price of USD 12.2 million, bulk carrier Archon (dwt 75,121 blt 2001 JAPAN) has also gone to a Greek firm.
