Anangel seals charter deals for two bulkers

John Angelicoussis’s Anangel-American Shipping Enterprises has secured spot contracts for two of its capesize bulkers, according to brokers.

Embiricos orders two containerships at Hyundai Samho
Only few ships reported this week. HMD introducing a new series of 87,000 dwt bulkers. The ships was reported at USD 33.5 mill, and will be delivered end of 2016. Prices are still sliding sideways, with yards chasing buyers for new ECO friendly ship designs. Embiricos has placed an order at Hyundai Samho for 2 containerships (USD 81 mln, delivery 2014).

Ultrabulk continues fleet expansion
In addition to the announcement covering three newbuilding units made by Ultrabulk on March 19th, Ultrabulk now confirms having added five further units to its long term fleet. The new units are one additional 61,000tdw Supramax bulker to be built at a Japanese yard and scheduled for delivery 2016, joined by another 81,000tdw Kamsarmax bulker for delivery in 2015.

Rights offering to bring 6 Supramaxes for Starbulk - analyst
Star Bulk Carriers should acquire up to six supramaxes when it concludes a rights offering, according to an analyst at Arctic Securities. In a note to clients Erik Nikolai Stavseth applauded the fundraiser, in which the Nasdaq-listed owner of 13 bulkers expects to raise between $75 and $125m.

Quintana & Minerva Marine linked to deals

Quintana has placed an order for 2 (+2) bulk carriers at Sungdong, S.Korea, according to broker reports. The vessels will be delivered in 2015 at a cost of USD 47 million – 48 million. In the secondhand market, brokers report Greece’s Minerva Marine has snapped up MR tanker vessel HALLINDED (45,990 / 2008 / Japan) for USD 20.5 million.

In the Supramax sector, the resale YANGZHOU DAYANG DY4012 reported sold to undisclosed Greek buyers at US$ 25.1 million, the latest Clarkson Hellas S&P Weekly Bulletin notes. Japanese controlled M/V VALENTE ACE after inspected by 6 buyers during her SS/DD in Naikai, Japan, understand she is committed to Greek buyers for US$ 20.5m.
