BigLift and RollDock Form BigRoll Module Carrier Company

BigLift Shipping and RollDock Shipping have formed a new company, BigRoll, to build and operate two new module carriers.

The 169-meter-long vessels will have DP2 and Finnish Swedish 1A ice class notations and have a deadweight of 22,500 tonnes. The carriers are not semi-submersible, BigLift and RollDock said in a statement.

Although shipowners under pressure wake with a heavy heart, their colleagues with big balance sheets and small obligations are not necessarily any happier. For them recessions are for building future businesses, and that can be almost as stressful as bankruptcy.
