U.S. blacklists firms for evading Iran oil sanctions - Action against Cambis
The US has blacklisted two companies it says helped Iran evade sanctions on oil sales and slapped penalties on four Tehran-based firms it says helped the Islamic Republic enrich uranium, the latest efforts to pressure Iran's nuclear program. The Treasury Department said it blacklisted Sambouk Shipping FZC, a UAE based company it says is tied to Dimitris Cambis, a Greek businessman the department recently sanctioned.

Embiricos orders two containerships at Hyundai Samho
Only few ships reported this week. HMD introducing a new series of 87,000 dwt bulkers. The ships was reported at USD 33.5 mill, and will be delivered end of 2016. Prices are still sliding sideways, with yards chasing buyers for new ECO friendly ship designs. Embiricos has placed an order at Hyundai Samho for 2 containerships (USD 81 mln, delivery 2014).

Quintana & Minerva Marine linked to deals

Quintana has placed an order for 2 (+2) bulk carriers at Sungdong, S.Korea, according to broker reports. The vessels will be delivered in 2015 at a cost of USD 47 million – 48 million. In the secondhand market, brokers report Greece’s Minerva Marine has snapped up MR tanker vessel HALLINDED (45,990 / 2008 / Japan) for USD 20.5 million.

Charter costs for the biggest tankers hauling Middle East oil to Asia resumed a decline amid a surplus of ships in the Persian Gulf. Booking rates for very large crude carriers on the benchmark Saudi Arabia-to-Japan voyage fell 0.3 percent to 32.03 industry-standard Worldscale points, figures from the London- based Baltic Exchange showed.
