HMM seals five-year deal with S-Oil for crude transport
Hyundai Merchant Marine Co., South Korea's second-largest shipping firm, said that it has clinched a 200 billion won deal to transport crude oil for a local refiner. Under the deal with S-Oil Corp., the country's third-largest oil refiner, Hyundai Merchant will carry a total of 16 million tons of crude oil over the next five years from Saudi Arabia to South Korea.

Shipbuilding focus on tankers & MR sized product carriers
Main focus on tankers and MR sized product carriers in particular. Leading builder Hyundai Mipo announced a contract for further 10 units at a total price in the region of usd 305/310 million. Hyundai Heavy said to be in final negotiations for initially two Aframax tankers for account of Kyklades Maritime subject to a time charter agreement with Total.

Delta Tankers & Marine Management Services order newbuildings - brokers


Delta Tankers of Greece has placed an order for two (+1) tanker vessels (dwt 158,000) at Hyundai Heavy Industries, S.Korea, according to latest broker reports. The price has not been disclosed. Brokers also report, Greece-based Marine Management Services has ordered three (+2) bulk carriers (dwt 82,000) at Jiangsu, China for USD 26 million. Delivery is expected in 2015/16.

Cyprus Maritime acquires tanker vessel - brokers
Cyprus Maritime has acquired tanker vessel BRITISH OAK (dwt 106,395 blt 2003 Japan) for USD 15 million, according to broker reports. Greeks have also moved for the LEO STAR (dwt 17,568 blt 2008 S.Korea) tanker vessel for USD 12.6 million.

Odfjell and NCC to dissolve NOCT chemical tanker pool
After four years of cooperation Odfjell Tankers (Odfjell) and National Chemical Carriers (NCC) have agreed, effective June 1, 2013, to dissolve their pool of 40,000 to 45,000 dwt coated chemical tankers. Thirteen of the ships currently in the pool are owned by NCC, and five ships are owned and/or controlled by Odfjell.

Hyundai Mipo wins $305 million tanker order

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard said on Tuesday it had won a 348.3 billion Korean won ($305.5 million) order to build 10 petrochemical product carriers from an unidentified shipper in the Marshall Islands.
