Samudera Indonesia has won a $70m contract for supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to a power plant operated by state-owned gold miner Aneka Tambang in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi.
According to local reports, the company will assign one of its 50 ships to serve the plant. “Our target is to start supplying [the LNG] next year,” managing director Bani Mulia was quoted as saying.
Samudera is also bidding to take part in Pertamina’s floating storage regasification project.
The company is buying up to six ships this year.
