Shanghai container volumes up

The port of Shanghai has posted higher container throughput in April y-o-y, according to Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG) figures.

Shanghai recorded throughput of 3.28m TEU in April, representing an increase of 4.9% from 3.12m TEU in April 2016, data showed.

Last month’s volume, however, dropped by 4.6% compared to 3.43m TEU seen in March this year.

From January to April 2017, Shanghai recorded a total throughput of 12.67m TEU, up 8.7% from 11.66m TEU in the same period last year.
