Svitzer Agrees 5-Year Contract Extension with NuStar

Svitzer has agreed a five-year extension of its marine service contract with NuStar to support the latter’s Point Tupper Oil Storage facility with three tugs on time charter, performing berthing and unberthing for calling tankers and safety standby services at the terminal.

Svitzer has been delivering towage services to NuStar in Point Tupper since 2010.

“At Svitzer, we are continuously looking to stabilise and expand our operations in Eastern Canada,” Arjen Van Dijk, Managing Director, Svitzer Americas, said.

“Our strategy for the Americas is to pursue further growth within a careful selection of projects and ports that fit our portfolio and capabilities well, and where our multi-local presence will make us a more efficient and reliable partner to our customers.”

The extension comes into effect on August 1, 2020.
