Atlas Maritime Ltd., a shipping company of the Patitsas family, headed by Leon Patitsas, announced the commissioning of the new state-of-the-art Suezmax tanker “Viking Star” (HN5103), with a capacity of 157,000 DWT, on November 5, 2025.
The ship, 274 meters long and 48 meters wide, is one of the most technologically advanced tankers in the world, according to the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). It has a service speed of 14.5 knots, fully compliant with the latest international environmental protection regulations.
“Viking Star” is LNG dual-fuel ready, designed for optimal energy efficiency and lower emissions, signaling Atlas Maritime’s vision for a greener and more sustainable fleet. Its delivery further strengthens the company’s position in the global crude oil transportation market.
