Okeanis Eco Tankers is reportedly on track to set a new, historic record for spot rates for VLCC tankers.
According to Tankers International, the shipping company is negotiating the charter of the VLCC Nissos Donoussa (318,700 dwt, built in 2019) with Trafigura, at a daily rate that could reach $751,615 for loading in early April. If completed, it would be the highest VLCC charter ever recorded.
According to AIS data, the Nissos Donoussa is located southeast of Borneo.
