Maran Gas Maritime, a member of the Angelicoussis Group under the leadership of Maria Angelicoussis, is proceeding—according to shipbuilding market sources—with an order for two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers at Hanwha Ocean in South Korea, exercising an option included in a previous agreement for two additional sister vessels.

The new LNG carriers are being designed with a strong focus on the highest safety and energy efficiency standards, incorporating advanced systems that reduce environmental impact while enhancing operational flexibility.

It is noted that the company recently expanded its fleet with the Maran Gas Syros, a 174,000 cubic meter newbuild LNG carrier also constructed at Hanwha Ocean, which has been registered under the Greek flag—underscoring the Group’s strategy of investing in modern, technologically advanced tonnage.
