Akrotiri Tankers, owned by Marielena Procopiou and Constantinos Lampsias, has reportedly placed an order for tanker newbuildings, strengthening its presence in the LR1 category, while at the same time taking its first step in the Suezmax sector.
Akrotiri has returned to Chinese shipyard New Times Shipbuilding for the construction of two more ships: a 157,000 dwt Suezmax crude oil tanker and a 73,000 dwt LR1 coated tanker.
Deliveries are reportedly scheduled for 2029.
