Thenamaris, owned by shipowner Nikolas Martinos, has placed an order for four containerships with a capacity of 3,200 TEU each, according to shipbroking sources.
The vessels will be built at China’s Hengli shipyards for Thenamaris ConBulk, with deliveries scheduled for 2028. Each vessel will have a deadweight capacity of 41,200 tonnes, a length of 199.9 metres and a beam of 35.2 metres, and will be powered by an Everllence main engine.
The move is significant as ConBulk currently operates 24 bulk carriers and two containerships, substantially strengthening its presence in the segment.
The group recently also ordered three newbuild LR2/Aframax tankers of 113,300 dwt from Dalian, with deliveries scheduled for late 2028 and early 2029, further diversifying the group’s fleet internationally.
