DryDel Shipping has announced the further strengthening of its Capesize bulk carrier fleet, signing an agreement with Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for the construction of another new ship.

This is the company’s fourth Capesize, following the agreement for a third vessel in July 2025, confirming the firm’s strong partnership with the Japanese shipbuilding industry. The new vessel will have a capacity of 182,000 dwt, will be scrubber-fitted and will feature a Tier III / EEDI Phase 3 engine, to be delivered in 2029.

The investment supports DryDel’s diversification into larger sizes, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental performance. The company’s CEO, Kostas Delaportas, emphasized that this order is another solid step in DryDel’s long-term growth strategy.
