Enterprise Greece once again supported the Greek participation in EUROPORT 2025, the International Exhibition for the complex shipbuilding industry and innovative technology, which took place from 4 to 7 November at the “Ahoy” exhibition center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

EUROPORT, held biennially, is one of the most important international exhibitions in the maritime sector. In 2025, it attracted more than 23,000 industry professionals from 87 countries, with the participation of 1,100 exhibitors and 13 national pavilions, making it a leading B2B networking platform and a hub for exchanging know-how in the shipbuilding industry. Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port, once again proved to be the ideal meeting point for presenting innovative technologies and discussing the challenges and opportunities of modern shipping.

The Greek participation, supported by Enterprise Greece, consisted of 16 dynamic companies that showcased in an impressive way the strength, innovation, and extroversion of the Greek maritime industry. The exhibits of the Greek companies combined traditional industrial products and equipment with advanced technological applications and green solutions, reflecting the multidimensional character and global competitiveness of Greek shipping. The Greek pavilions, located in prominent areas of the exhibition, captured the attention of visitors and confirmed—once again—Greece’s leading position in the global maritime arena.

Τhe strong presence of Greek companies, under the auspices of Enterprise Greece, reflects the country’s consistent vision for sustainable growth, technological leadership, and the continuous strengthening of the extroversion of Greek shipping.

Referring to this strong presence, the CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: “Greek shipping is not just an economic sector; it is a living force of innovation, adaptability, and sustainable development. The participation of Greek maritime equipment companies in EUROPORT 2025 demonstrates that Greece is at the forefront of the transition toward clean and green shipping, investing in environmentally friendly technologies, innovative products, and highly skilled human capital. Enterprise Greece steadfastly supports this strategic direction, enhancing the international visibility and global footprint of Greek shipping. The successful Greek presence at EUROPORT 2025 confirms the strategic importance of the extroversion initiatives implemented by Enterprise Greece, promoting Greece as a global reference point for innovation, technology, and green shipping.”

EUROPORT 2025 was accompanied by several parallel events that highlighted the latest trends and innovations in the global maritime industry. Among the highlights were the GREEN4SEA, SMART4SEA, and CAREER4SEA EUROPORT Awards, where initiatives on sustainability, digital transformation, and human resources were presented.

The discussions at the Smart Stage attracted interest, covering topics such as automation and low-emission fuels, while the Mare Forum Ship Finance and the Young Europort Programme focused on maritime financing and the next generation of industry professionals.

On the exhibition’s opening day, the Greek companies were honored by the presence of the Ambassador of Greece to the Netherlands, Ms. Aikaterini Gkini, accompanied by Captain of the Hellenic Coast Guard & Maritime Attaché, Mr. Efthymios Douvís, and Lieutenant Junior Grade of the Hellenic Coast Guard & Assistant Maritime Attaché, Ms. Evangelia Kanaki.

On the second day, the Greek pavilion was visited by the Head of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office in The Hague, Mr. Apostolos Michalopoulos, First Counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs, along with the office’s scientific advisor, Ms. Antigoni Bampi, who expressed their interest and support for the Greek business presence at the exhibition.
