Carlova Maritime has reportedly ordered a second 300,000 dwt VLCC from South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean shipyard.

The first of the two ships is expected to be delivered in the last quarter of 2027, while the latest order will be delivered in the third quarter of 2029.

Reports estimate that the latest newbuild will cost Carlova Maritime USD 130 million, slightly more than the first one, which is worth close to $125 million under an agreement signed last August.

With this move, Carlova Maritime significantly increases its fleet as it currently has one VLCC (blt 2018) with a capacity of 298,000 dwt, which has been chartered for one year and 18 months to Exxonmobil for USD 80,000 per day.
