CMA CGM has renamed the New York and New Jersey terminals, which it recently purchased from Global Container Terminals (GCT).
The company introduced the rebranded “Port Liberty,” formerly known as GCT Bayonne and New York, during a launch event.
The two terminals will now be called “Port Liberty New York” and “Port Liberty Bayonne.”
The shipping company has also invested $600 million in the two facilities, incorporating the latest technologies. This is projected to create 1,000 union jobs, according to CMA CGM.
CMA CCM stated: “Port Liberty New York and Port Liberty Bayonne on the East Coast, together with FMS on the West Coast now rank as CMA CGM’s flagship terminals in North America. They will enable us to provide a better service offering to our customers.”
