Danaos linked to Newcastlemax deal

Danaos Corporation, led by Dr. Ioannis Koustas, is moving forward with a new strategic initiative in the dry bulk sector, having reached an agreement with Chinese shipbuilder Dajin Offshore for the construction of four Newcastlemax vessels.

According to sources, the total value of the deal is estimated at approximately 297.3 million dollars, with each vessel priced at 74.25 million dollars.

The company’s active fleet currently comprises 75 containerships and 11 Capesize bulk carriers, while it has acquired a total of 11 dry bulk vessels since 2023, further confirming its strategy of diversification.
