Dong Fang Offshore announced the award by Vestas of a newbuild SOV supporting the operations & maintenance phase for the Changfang Xidao and Zhong Neng projects, with a firm contract duration of 12 years. The SOV is the first of two units that have already been ordered, and will be delivered in the last quarter of 2026 from the shipyard. The SOV will fly the flag of Taiwan.
The contract demonstrates the project partners’ commitment to working with high quality local suppliers.
Once delivered, the new SOV will ensure continued employment prospects both for Taiwanese crew on board the DFO fleet, as well as building confidence within the on-shore team to continue to attract the best and brightest personnel. The Vessel has been built to the highest European standards and meets or exceeds the requirements of the offshore wind industry.
