Hapag-Lloyd has reached 300 owned and chartered vessels for the first time ever, after taking two container ship newbuilds on charter from Reederei Nord.
The liner company said is a post on social media:
Today, we’re celebrating a significant milestone that will be making waves – quite literally! With the launch and delivery of the charter vessel “Nordatlantic,” Hapag-Lloyd now operates more ships than ever before in our 177-year history.
This achievement is just the start of an exciting chapter. The “Nordatlantic” will soon be joined by her sister ships, “Nordbaltic” and “Nordpuma,” as part of a package deal with Reederei NORD Group. Together, these vessels will strengthen our intra-Asia feeder services and support our broader fleet upgrade.
This milestone reflects not only the growth of our fleet but the dedication of our teams and the trust of our partners worldwide. According to Hansa Online, Hapag-Lloyd’s capacity grew by an impressive 18.7% in 2024, reaching a total of 2.3 million TEU – a testament to our continued focus on connecting global trade.
Here’s to navigating new horizons, making waves, and shaping the future of shipping – with many more milestones ahead!
