HMM orders 9 methanol-powered containerships

The HMM Dublin, the largest container ship in the world in the port of Hamburg. A ship for the transport of goods which reflects the globilisation and the upswing.

HMM, has invited tenders from its four largest compatriot shipbuilders to build nine 8,000 teu containerships.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), Samsung Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and HJ Shipbuilding & Construction said they had provided prices for methanol-fuelled ships for delivery in 2025 to 2026.

HMM plans to use the ships on routes to South America and India.
