The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority has determined that Kpler’s acquisition of Spire Global’s maritime data business does not qualify for investigation.

The decision was announced in a statement from the British competition watchdog on Friday, effectively clearing one regulatory hurdle for the transaction.

The CMA’s ruling means the acquisition can proceed without further scrutiny from UK competition authorities, as the deal did not meet the threshold requirements that would trigger a formal investigation under UK merger control rules.
