Leadership change at ESVAGT

From 1 November Kristian Jakobsen and Søren Karas will jointly take over the CEO role at ESVAGT replacing Peter Lytzen who will retire.

Kristian Jakobsen was previously Deputy CEO at ESVAGT, a role he has held since 2018. Søren Karas was previously Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer at ESVAGT, a position he has held since 2017.

Jakob Thomasen, Chair of ESVAGT commented: “I am delighted that we have strong CEO successors within ESVAGT in Kristian and Søren who know the business well and are advocates of our values and culture. I am looking forward to continuing our successful growth under the leadership of Kristian and Søren.

Peter Lytzen states, “My time at ESVAGT has been a tremendous journey but everything has its time. I have concluded this is right time to retire and I am delighted that my colleagues Kristian and Søren have accepted to take over the helm. Having worked closely with Kristian and Søren for more than 6 years, I know they both have the experience and ability to continue ESVAGTs successful journey, but most importantly, also the talent and innovation it takes to guide ESVAGT into the future.

ESVAGT services offshore wind farms with its market-leading fleet of Service Operation Vessels (SOV), a concept which ESVAGT pioneered in 2010. ESVAGT also offer a wide range of specialized services to the Oil & Gas industries including Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRVs). The company was founded in 1981 and has today a fleet of more than 40 vessels and approximately 1300 employees offshore and onshore.
