Louis Dreyfus Armateurs’ subsidiary, LD Tide, has been awarded a contract to supply a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) for the Éoliennes en Mer des Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN) offshore wind farm. The vessel, set to begin operations in mid-2025, will support Siemens Gamesa’s maintenance activities.
LD Tide—a joint venture between Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and Tidal Transit—will operate a 24 passenger CTV to facilitate technician transfers to the 488 MW wind farm. This marks the second contract awarded to LD Tide by Siemens Gamesa, following the deployment of the Acti’vent CTV at the Fécamp Offshore Wind Farm in 2023.
The vessel, currently under construction by Singapore-based Strategic Marine, is part of a broader investment in France’s offshore wind sector. Designed for safety, performance, and comfort, the StratCat 27 model will be operated under the French flag by a French crew.
The EMYN offshore wind farm will feature 61 turbines, each rated at 8 MW, with an expected annual output of 1,900 GWh—enough to power approximately 800,000 people.
Gaël Cailleaux, Renewables Managing Director at Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, commented: “We are very pleased to strengthen our collaboration with Siemens Gamesa… expanding our presence in the French maritime industrial sector dedicated to offshore wind.”
