M/MARITIME is entering the feeder containership sector, through investment in the construction of two 2,800 TEU ships at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).

The agreement provides for the construction of the two ships at HHI’s shipyards in South Korea. The choice of this particular shipyard reflects the company’s strategic commitment to quality and technical excellence, with the aim of creating ships of high efficiency, reliability and long-term operational value.

The new vessels will be built based on HHI’s con-green eco-design and will be compliant with IMO Tier III specifications. They will feature advanced energy efficiency systems, as well as increased reefer capacity, enhancing the company’s flexibility and competitiveness. The ships are scheduled to be delivered in early 2028.

Moreover, M/MARITIME continues to strengthen its presence in its core sector, dry bulk. In this context, it has signed three long-term time charters for newbuildings to be built at Japanese shipyards. These agreements have a duration of five to ten years, while deliveries of the ships are expected between 2029 and 2030.
