On May 23rd, Britain’s maritime monitoring agency said a merchant vessel near Yemen’s coast observed a missile striking the water close by.
The ship and its entire crew remained unharmed, continuing on its course to the subsequent port of call.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) agency announced it had been notified of the event approximately 98 nautical miles (NM) south of Yemen’s Hodeidah port city.
According to UKMTO, “vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO”.
