A new milestone has been reached in the shipbuilding programme of Navios, owned by Angeliki Frangou, with Zhoushan Changhong International holding a steel-cutting ceremony for the company’s 11th 115,000-dwt crude oil and product tanker.
The vessel is a new-generation LR2/Aframax, designed in accordance with the latest regulations and classed by Lloyd’s Register. The ships are approximately 249.9 metres long, 44 metres wide and 21.5 metres deep.
In addition to conventional fuels, the vessels have been designed to allow for future conversion to methanol or LNG. They are also equipped with provisions for medium-voltage shore power, helping to reduce emissions while in port.
The advanced Framo pumping system, featuring one pump per tank, enhances flexibility in handling different cargoes while improving overall operational efficiency.
