According to broker reports, Navios Maritime Partners is believed to have placed an order for four containership newbuilds at HJ Shipbuilding & Construction (HJSC).
Prices for the vessels are undisclosed, but the deal is reported to amount to approximately USD 500 million.
HJ Shipbuilding & Construction said it signed a contract to build four container ships worth a total of 678.9 billion won for a shipping company in Oceania.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system on the 23rd, HJ Shipbuilding & Construction disclosed that on the 22nd it won an order for four 10,100-TEU class container ships from a shipping company in Oceania for 678,967.55 million won.
This amounts to 33.9% of last year’s sales, and the ships ordered this time are scheduled to be delivered to the shipowner in Apr. 2029.
With this order, HJ Shipbuilding & Construction has secured a total of eight 10,000-TEU class container ships to build this year.
