Petrobras has placed a $427 million order with the Estaleiro Rio Grande shipyard to build four medium-range oil tankers.
Petrobras Transporte (Transpetro) signed the deal for the MR1-class vessels.
Each ship is set to have a gross tonnage (GT) of 40,000 tons and be able to operate on biofuels and in electrified ports.
The first vessel is set to be delivered within 33 months.
