Stena Bulk chief executive officer Erik Hånell is set to step down from his position. In an announcement, Hånell said:
After 27 years with Stena, including nearly 14 years as President & CEO of Stena Bulk, I have decided to step down from my role on 1 December 2026.
This journey has been extraordinary. I have had the privilege to work with outstanding colleagues, partners, and friends across the globe, navigating both challenging and rewarding times in our industry. The relationships built over the years are what I will cherish the most.
Stena Bulk has been a significant part of my life, and I am proud of our achievements together. I leave the operational role with confidence in the company’s future and the strong platform we have built.
I am pleased to announce that Philip Eriksson will take over as CEO. Philip brings deep industry experience and a strong understanding of both the commercial and operational aspects of the business. I am confident that Stena Bulk will be in good hands.
The transition will begin during the summer and continue throughout the year. I will remain involved as a member of the Board of Stena Bulk. Until then, it is business as usual, and my full focus remains on leading Stena Bulk together with our teams and partners until 1 December 2026.
