Thessaloniki Port Authority S.A. (ThPA S.A.), a member of the Core Network of the Trans-European Transport Network and a port of international significance, announced its financial results for the first half of 2026.
Following the approval of the Half-Year Financial Report by the Board of Directors on September 25, 2026, the Group’s consolidated revenue increased significantly by 8.9% to €58 million, from €53.3 million in the first half of 2025.
By business segment, container terminal revenue increased 12.1% to €43.6 million, from €38.9 million. Conventional cargo terminal revenue declined slightly by 3.4% to €11 million, from €11.4 million. Space utilisation revenue rose significantly by 22.9% to €2.7 million, from €2.2 million, while passenger traffic (cruise and coastal shipping) recorded a marginal 4% decline to €0.7 million, from €0.73 million.
The Group recorded higher profitability across all levels, with gross profit rising 5.5% to €26.5 million, from €25.1 million. EBITDA increased 4.9% to €26.1 million, from €24.9 million, while net profit after tax rose 3.5% to €16.5 million, from €15.9 million.
The Group’s capital expenditure programme amounted to €16 million in the first half of 2026, up significantly from €5.2 million in the corresponding period of 2025. The increase reflects the completion of the acquisition of eight new stacking vehicles and other mechanical equipment, as well as the launch of construction works for the expansion of Pier 6. Capital expenditure is expected to increase further in the second half of the year as the investment programme progresses.
ThPA CEO Dr Ioannis Tsaras said:
“The strong financial and operational performance recorded in the first half of 2026, following a particularly successful year, confirms ThPA’s steady growth trajectory. It demonstrates the consistency with which our vision defines our strategic direction and is translated into tangible results. A decisive factor in this progress is the collective daily effort of the Company’s people, who drive every step of this development.
“At the same time, we remain focused on implementing our investment programme, the most important elements of which are strengthening our mechanical equipment and, above all, maintaining the strong pace of construction of the Pier 6 expansion. With eight caissons already installed and the ninth under construction, the largest investment in the history of the Port of Thessaloniki is already taking visible shape and represents the most tangible expression of the transformation underway.
“We continue with consistency and dedication, strengthening the Port’s operational capabilities and competitiveness, as well as Thessaloniki’s economic profile as a strategic gateway for trade and combined transport to Southeast and Central Europe.”
