J. Lauritzen announced the addition of Ulrik Uhrenfeldt Andersen to the Lauritzen NexGen team.

Lauritzen NexGen was established by J. Lauritzen to actively invest in the decarbonisation of the shipping industry. The initiative is currently focused on constructing three Kamsarmax bulk carriers equipped with methanol dual-fuel engines, which have already been secured on long-term time-charters by Cargill.

The company’s ambition is to expand Lauritzen NexGen through further investments in zero-emission capable assets, with a preference for partnerships with charterers, shipyards, financiers, and potentially equity partners.

To support this growth, Lauritzen NexGen has partnered with Ulrik Uhrenfeldt Andersen, who will collaborate with J. Lauritzen in the coming months to explore growth opportunities and strategic partnerships. Andersen brings extensive experience in the maritime industry, having previously served as CEO of Golden Ocean Group and Avance Gas in Norway, as well as holding leadership roles at Petredec in Singapore and Neu Gas Shipping in Germany.
