The major shifts reshaping global trade and shipping were highlighted by Angeliki Frangou, chairman and CEO of Navios Maritime Partners, in her keynote address at the 18th Annual Capital Link New York Maritime Forum.

She noted that conflicts and policies are affecting trade flows, while artificial intelligence and defence spending are boosting industrial demand. At the same time, technology is transforming the way ships are built and operated.

Frangou stressed that the goal for shipping companies is not to predict every change, but to maintain financial strength and operational flexibility. She explained that shipping must be able to thrive in both favourable and more challenging conditions, remaining a truly “all-weather” business.
