According to a PPA’s announcement, the meeting between PPA executives led by Deputy CEO Angelos Karakostas and a high-level Israeli delegation, took place at its headquarters, with the aim of strengthening Greek–Israeli cooperation in ports, shipping, and infrastructure.

The Israeli delegation included, among others, Shlomi Fogel, CEO Zvika Schechterman, as well as Israel Ports Company Chairman Hezi Halavia and CEO Pinhas Tsruya.

An in-depth exchange of views was held on cooperation prospects in the Eastern Mediterranean, port infrastructure development, trade corridor connectivity, and emerging investment opportunities in the region.

Particular emphasis was placed on the benefits of the IMEC Corridor, a strategic initiative expected to significantly enhance connectivity between India, the Middle East, and Europe.

Within this context, Greece and Israel are emerging as key partners and gateway hubs for transshipment trade and innovation in the Eastern Mediterranean, with ports playing a decisive role in shaping new supply chains and trade flows.

During the meeting and subsequent tour of port facilities, a shared commitment was reaffirmed to further develop synergies in port development, aiming to strengthen economic cooperation and regional stability across the wider Eastern Mediterranean area.
